Stained Glass Care
Stained glass is fragile and should be handled with care. Always use a screw in hook or a nail to hang your piece. Suction cups are never recommended as they can fail, leaving you with a damaged piece.
When displayed indoors, stained glass should be lightly cleaned and polished every 3-6 months. Solder lines will naturally oxidize over time. Do not use chemical or acid-based cleaners on your stained glass and avoid contact with abrasive materials. To clean, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a restorative shine, you can use a spritz of Pledge or small dab of car wax (yes, really) and gently buff with the same soft, dry cloth.
Your stained glass piece is intended as an art display and is not meant to be handled excessively. Solder does contain lead but is not considered harmful to handle. Lead is only harmful if ingested or inhaled. Please wash hands after handling and keep your stained glass out of reach of children and pets. Stained glass is not food safe and should never come into contact with food.
